Pro Bono

Kwun Bhansali Lazarus has committed itself to a robust pro bono practice since the firm’s inception. Our active litigation matters have included representing a refugee from El Salvador seeking asylum, an elderly couple suing in federal district court seeking to recover assets that were allegedly taken from them through fraud, and a mother whose home video of her dancing toddler was taken down from the internet as the result of a copyright complaint by a major music publisher. Our attorneys also have extensive experience in litigating reproductive rights issues, and we have provided advice in this area on a pro bono basis. We view pro bono cases foremost as a way to give back to the community through use of our legal skills, but we also believe that pro bono cases can make working in the law more rewarding for both attorneys and non-attorneys at our firm: by seeing the way legal work can make a difference in clients’ lives, by expanding our practice into new areas, and by helping younger attorneys sharpen their stand-up advocacy skills.
